Botanic Name : Cichorium intybus Asteraceae
Chicory's medical virtues were appreciated by the Greeks and the Romans. It would be used in preparations such as antipyretic wines (against fever) and vermifuge syrup.
Chicory is recommended against digestive problems such as nausea. Slightly laxative, it favours a healthy transit and counters bloating sensations. Contains substances perfect for the intestinal flora.

Preparation suggestions :
For one cup, add the equivalent of one to two teaspoons of Chicory powder and then pour in boiling water. Leave to infuse for less than 5 minutes, depending on the desired taste. Sweeten your infusion with a little honey.
Precautions of use :
Chicory tea is safe, but taking litres every day is not recommended. It is not recommended for: pregnant women - breastfeeding women - young children. No toxicity has been reported following even prolonged use of chicory. The only disadvantage is that the plant can stimulate the appetite, and therefore weight gain in people with an unbalanced diet. Chicory is not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women, or for children under 6 years old. Talk to your doctor!
