Common Mullein - Organic whole leaves - Infusion

Botanic Name : Verbascum thapsus Scrofulariaceae

In the 17th century, Trévoux's Dictionnary mentions  Common Mullein in treatments for "chest illnesses, stomach aches, dysentery and illnesses of the foundation". Imported in Northern America, the leaves were smoked by the natives to treat pulmonary disorders.  Common Mullein used to be considered as being "magical", because it was used to conjure curses.

As an infusion, the plant is interesting against coughing and colds. Traditionnaly used against rheumatisms,  Common Mullein has also strong detoxifying effects.

Preparation suggestions :

For one litre of water, add the equivalent of one to three teaspoons of Common Mullein powder and then pour in the boiling water. Leave to infuse for less than 5 minutes, depending on the desired taste. Sweeten your infusion with a little honey.

Precautions of use : 

Common Mullein tea is safe, but taking litres every day is not recommended for: pregnant women - breastfeeding women - young children. Talk to your doctor!
